BOC-3 is a form filed to the FMCSA that designates a process agent for each U.S. state. The agents are in place to accept any service of notice by that state's Secretary of State or services of process issued by any court in that state.

DOT

$50

Companies that operate commercial vehicles transporting passengers or hauling cargo in interstate commerce must be registered with the FMCSA and must have a US DOT Number. The US DOT Number serves as a unique identifier when collecting and monitoring a company's safety information acquired during audits, compliance reviews, crash investigations, and inspections. 

IL MC

$150 first time/ $55 renewal (+ $5 each additional vehicle if you don't pay UCR)

If you haul goods within the borders of Illinois, you have to obtain an additional intrastate authority from the Illinois Commerce Commission. If you have a federal MC and pay UCR, then you do not need to renew the authority and purchase a cab card for each truck. 

MC Authority

$450 / $45 for expedited certificate

​Companies that wants to operate as for-hire carries (for compensation) and transport passengers or goods in interstate commerce required to have interstate Operating Authority, other known as MC number.

UCR

$40 / + additional fee for each unit group

It is the interstate agreement developed under the UCR Plan governing the collection and distribution of registration information and UCR fees paid by motor carriers, motor private carriers, and so on.
