If you are a carrier and planning to cross the Canadian border for commercial purposes, the Canada Border Services Agency requires you to have a carrier code. It is four-digit identifier assigned by the CBSA to identify a carrier. Only one unique code can be assigned to each legal entity.

The Standard Carrier Alpha Code (SCAC) is a unique code used to identify transportation companies. Usually it is two to four alphabetic letters long. It requires annual renewal.

There are two ways to complete a title transfer: regular and expedited. Regular title transfers take an average of 3-8 weeks, while expedited take up to 15 days. Only Illinois titles can be changed the expedited way.
