Heavy Vehicle Highway Use Tax - Form 2290
This federal tax has to be paid annually by August 31st for all commercial vehicles over 55,000 lbs traveling more than 5,000 miles a year.
New Mexico Weight Distance Tax - WDT
The registrants, owners and operators of most motor vehicles having a declared gross weight or gross vehicle weight over 26,000 lbs and who are using highways in New Mexico are subject to the weight distance tax. They must file and pay the tax each quarter.
International Fuel Tax Agreement - IFTA
3 axle trucks and all vehicles above 26,000 lbs are required to apply for IFTA license and file quarterly returns on 01/31, 04/30, 07/31, and 10/31 of each year. Also, you have to maintain proper mileage and fuel records for audit purposes.
Kentucky Weight Distance Tax - KYU WDT
A license is required for vehicles with a registered gross weight of 60,000 lbs or more travelling to or passing through the state of Kentucky. Quarterly tax returns are due based on mileage traveled.
New York State Highway Use Tax - NYS HUT
A HUT permit is required for any truck with a gross weight over 18,000 pounds. The tax is based on mileage traveled on NY's public highways and has to be paid each quarter.
Unified Carrier Registration - UCR
UCR is a mandatory registration program applying to brokers, freight forwarders, and motor carriers of property and passengers. The fees are collected annually before the end of each calendar year and depend on the number of qualifying motor vehicles.
Kansas Motor Carrier Property Tax Rendition
The purpose of the Rendition is to comply with Kansas statutes which provide for assessment and taxation of over-the-road motor vehicles and rolling equipment owned/ operated by motor carriers operating in or through Kansas. Appropriate returns should be filed by May 15th.
Arkansas Annual Carrier Report
All motor carriers and bus lines that travel for hire into or through the State of Arkansas are subject to assessment by the Tax Division. Filing deadline is on March 31st of each year.
